The importance of having your feelings articulated by another’s words

Over the years I have read a number of books that have had a significant impact on my mental and physical health. In more recent times I have also listened to a number of podcasts that have had a similar effect. Story telling or more specifically sharing one’s story has  always been a fundamental part of human existence. On both a personal and professional level I find there is immense power in hearing or just knowing that somebody else gets where you are coming from.  Better yet is when  they have ways to help you process painful or difficult emotions.

Sometimes it really helps to know that someone else has gone through something similar to what you are going through.
